Getting Ready For Our First Florida Summer!
The reason so many of us have move to sunny Florida is because we cannot handle one more snowy/frigid winter up north. Our “Next Chapter” began last fall when we packed up ourselves and made the permanent trek from Wisconsin down to Charlotte Harbor. Upon setting up house, we basked in the sun, swam in the pool and asked ourselves “Why didn’t we think of this plan a long time ago?” Fall weather was invigorating, Winter was pleasant and Spring found us still marveling at the lovely weather. After a recent trip to Wisconsin for a college graduation in mid-May, we were faced with what we call “Sprinter”. At 43 degrees, it was a cross between Winter and Spring! How quickly our blood has thinned and as Floridians, we were frozen!
Now we are coming upon our first Florida Summer, we need to think about ways to keep cool while enjoying the recreational opportunities of Charlotte Harbor. We are looking forward to hanging out at Boca Grande Beach, with the trick being to start late with an ocean view at sunset.
Having fun at the splash fountain at Laishley Park. Be a kid again and kick up some water, then grab an ice cream at Harborwalk Scoops, voted #1 by Trip Advisor. Our favorite neighborhood pub around the corner, we can catch the live music at the Celtic Ray Irish Pub.
Our final evening destination will be a visit to Fishermen’s Village, where we can dream about living on a 50’ Chris Craft, visit our favorite shops and await the vibrant sunsets overlooking the harbor. Life is good!
