Englewood is set to take center stage in November hosting the first annual Englewood Beach Waterfest. Culminating in the Offshore Powerboat Association World Championship race off Manasota Key on November 18-22nd, other activities will include a “family-friendly” fishing tournament for Spanish mackerel, a parade, an open air music fest and block party along Dearborn Street, stand up paddleboard and kayak races, an environmental educational event and a cardboard boat race.
On Friday, the 20th, and Sunday, the 22nd, multiple classes of Offshore Race Boats will take to the racecourse in the Gulf waters off Manasota Key in Englewood. Viewers will thrill to hear the roar of massive horsepower converted to pure speed on the water by world class throttle men and drivers with exciting hull-to-hull racing at speeds exceeding 200 mph.
Those wanting a closer look can see the boats in the dry and wet pits as they test and qualify their boats on Thursday and Saturday or in the parade down Dearborn Street.
As you can see, we’ve got an exciting lineup planned with more events being added daily, all showcasing Englewood and its beautiful waters at its finest!
